Recap: Southridge Spartans vs. Mater Lakes Academy Bears
The Southridge Spartans put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Mater Lakes Academy 69-30 at home.
Shanaii Gamble was her usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Southridge's points. Dianka Hardisson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Despite the defeat, Mater Lakes Academy saw an underclassman step up: Vanessa Vancott scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Glover, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Southridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Mater Lakes Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Southridge will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northwestern at 5:00 p.m. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they will square off against Lake Wales at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lake Wales focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
