Baseball Recap: York Catholic's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

York Catholic waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the York County Tech Spartans by a score of 9-6. That's two games straight that the Fighting Irish have won by exactly three runs.

Jacob Scappa tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Connor Latrechiano was incredible, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Yingling, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

York Catholic's record now sits at 5-9. As for York County Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

York Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
