Soccer Game Preview: Air Academy vs. Cheyenne Mountain

The Air Academy Kadets will take on the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Air Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Pueblo East get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Saturday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Air Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Pueblo East are ranked 222nd).

Air Academy was without their leading scorer, Tyner Amerine, in Saturday's match. With Amerine sidelined, the Kadets had to make some changes to the lineup. And.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Rangers 4-1. The contest was close at halftime, but Cheyenne Mountain turned on the heat in the second half with two goals.

They hit Lewis-Palmer with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Luke McCallister (2), Josh Slivka, and Max Porat.

Air Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-4-1. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 7-4-2.
