Baseball Recap: Danbury Takes a Loss

Danbury fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Norwalk on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-4 to the Bears. The Hatters haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Dustin Pitti put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Gary Cueto made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.

Danbury's record now sits at 5-9. As for Norwalk, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

Danbury has already played their next contest, an 8-4 defeat against Greenwich on the 5th. As for Norwalk, they will challenge McMahon at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Senators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.73 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
