It was a proper cat-fight when Taft faced off against Wasco on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Tigers 3-0. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Taft never let Wasco on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 28-26, 25-19.

Melody Franks paced Taft's offense, picking up 11 kills. Franks got some help from Karsynn Owens and her 26 assists. Franks and Owens didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.

Taft's win bumped their record up to 8-17. As for Wasco, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Taft is set to take on their familiar foe Delano at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Wasco will challenge rival Shafter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
