Brillion owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Kiel Raiders as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Amaya Brooks made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over seven innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, Kara Hedrich was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Miller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Brillion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kiel only posted a batting average of .091.
Brillion's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Kiel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Brillion will square off against rival Sheboygan Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kiel is set to challenge their familiar foe Roncalli at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
