Recap: Hermann Bearcats vs. Montgomery County Wildcats

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Union, The Hermann Bearcats were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Montgomery County by a score of 27-14. For Hermann, this counts as revenge for the 27-21 loss Montgomery County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August.

Leading Hermann to victory were Daeden Hopkins and Caden Humphrey. Hopkins picked up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Humphrey gained 151 total yards.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Montgomery County to a paltry 237 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Hermann's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Hopkins.

Although Montgomery County took the loss, they still got scores from Jacob Hogue and Dayton Simmons.

Hermann's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3. As for Montgomery County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Hermann will face off against Lift for Life Academy at TBD on Friday. Lift for Life Academy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. Montgomery County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
