Basketball Preview: Del Sol Dragons vs. Western Warriors

Del Sol is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Warriors a ten-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Del Sol Dragons will take on the Western Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Del Sol pushed their score all the way to 73 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 85-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cimarron-Memorial. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Del Sol in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost seven in a row.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jaeden Alexander, who scored 25 points. It was the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Luis Lozano was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Western took a serious blow against the Mustangs on Thursday, falling 69-37.

Del Sol has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Western, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Del Sol came up short against the Warriors in their previous matchup back in January, falling 73-69. Will Del Sol have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
