Softball Recap: St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions vs. Marist War Eagles        
        
		
             St. Pius X Catholic waltzed into their contest  on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Marist War Eagles with a sharp  9-1 victory. Considering the Golden Lions have won six matches by more than seven  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Maggie Laba tossed a big game,   tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Megan Snipes was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, four  RBI, and two  runs. She also put up a  double, which washer first of the season.  Mary Durieux was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-2.
 St. Pius X Catholic was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .421. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marist only posted a  batting average of  .222.
 St. Pius X Catholic pushed their record up to 8-3 with that  win, which was their seventh straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Marist,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at five games  and leaves them with a 11-4 record.
 St. Pius X Catholic will head out to  take on Calvary Christian  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Marist, they will take on North Springs at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both  have allowed few  runs on average, (Marist: 3.7, North Springs: 3.1) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
