Baseball Recap: Anthony Takes a Loss

Anthony and Compass Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Anthony had to settle for second. They lost 17-9 to the Cougars. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Alfonso Cisneros and Abel Jimenez did some serious damage despite the final result: Cisneros went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Jimenez went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jimenez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Brandon Madrid was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Anthony's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Compass Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 30-3.

As of now, neither Anthony nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
