Basketball Game Preview: Xavier Saints vs. Dubuque Senior Rams

The Xavier Saints will venture away from home to square off against the Dubuque Senior Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Xavier's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Xavier against Washington as the squad secured a 63-36 victory. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Warriors are ranked 130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Dubuque Senior had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the Golden Eagles 66-52.

Xavier has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Dubuque Senior, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Xavier lost to Dubuque Senior on the road by a decisive 50-36 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Xavier avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
