Softball Recap: Wasatch Comes Up Short

Wasatch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Uintah Utes, falling 9-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wasps of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Brylee Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Hallie Whiting also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Wasatch's record now sits at 4-12. As for Uintah, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Wasatch will square off against Maple Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Uintah, they will take on Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
