Football Recap: Goleman Starts Season with Victory Against Key West

Goleman had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 62-21 victory over the Key West Conchs.

Timothy Potts had a dynamite game, throwing for 358 yards and six TDs, while also punching in one rushing score. Kari Love-Laidler was Potts' top target, picking up 117 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Several Conchs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Walson Morin, who rushed for 114 yards on only nine carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Chace Gaertner, who threw for 80 yards and a pair of TDs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goleman will welcome Southridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Key West, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against IMG Academy Junior National at 7:00 p.m.
