Softball Preview: Greenwich Cardinals vs. St. Joseph Cadets

Greenwich is 0-8 against St. Joseph since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Greenwich Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the St. Joseph Cadets at 4:00 p.m.

On Monday, Greenwich fell victim to a rough 16-2 defeat at the hands of Ludlowe. Greenwich has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 8-2 victory.

Katie Dzialo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts every time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, St. Joseph got a big performance out of Janelli Pratts, who went 1-for-4 with a home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jill Guilfoyle, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
