The Prairie Central Hawks will head out to face off against the Rantoul Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Prairie Central is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since March 29th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Peoria Notre Dame by a score of 3-1. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Prairie Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Galloway, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Rantoul can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Maroa-Forsyth.

Josie Roseman was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Silver Button also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Prairie Central now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Rantoul, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Prairie Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Rantoul in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
