Moorpark moved up to 46 from 80 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Marmonte - West. The Musketeers were able to make the jump by beating Thousand Oaks 44-8.
The Lancers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Clark Abourisk threw for 212 and one touchdown and Nick Julier had 89 yards receiving. On the ground Nathan Debeikes chipped in 24 yards. Debeikes helped Thousand Oaks' passing attack out by catching six balls for 64 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Abourisk and Debeikes Thousand Oaks has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Abourisk leads the league in passing with 1621 yards, while Debeikes has rushed for 469 yards this season. Oaks Christian's Francis Owusu leads the league in receiving yards with 528 on 32 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Moorpark takes on Agoura. As it stands, the Musketeers are in second, while the Chargers are in fourth.
Moorpark made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 311 from 678. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 44-8 victory over the Lancers last week.
