Volleyball Game Preview: Estrella Foothills Wolves vs. Tolleson Wolverines

The Estrella Foothills Wolves will take on the Tolleson Wolverines at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Peoria wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Estrella Foothills, they should've done a better job of containing Lily Merefield. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers on Monday with plenty of help from Merefield, who had 15 assists and four aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last ten times she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Estrella Foothills was: they took every set by at least 18 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-7, 25-6.

Meanwhile, Tolleson had to endure a four-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Kofa on Wednesday.

Tolleson picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-8. As for Estrella Foothills, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Estrella Foothills skirted past Tolleson 2-1 when the teams last played back in October of 2016. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
