Volleyball Recap: Zumbrota-Mazeppa Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Zumbrota-Mazeppa duked it out with Lewiston-Altura on Friday. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Lewiston-Altura was led to victory by Kaylee Hansen and Alaina Barkeim. Hansen had eight assists and six digs, while Barkeim had six digs.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Lewiston-Altura, they moved to 11-12 with that win, which also ended their five-match losing streak.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Anoka on the 11th. As for Lewiston-Altura, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against St. Peter on the 11th.
