Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Antravion Kinsey and Ladaunte Mccoy Lead Ringgold to Victory

Ringgold won the last time they faced Arcadia and things went their way on Friday too. The Ringgold Redskins walked away with a 57-50 win over the Arcadia Hornets. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Redskins' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Hornets are ranked 41st).

Leading Ringgold to victory were LaDaunte McCoy and AnTravion Kinsey. McCoy went 8 for 14 en route to 19 points along with five boards and four steals, while Kinsey went 6 of 15 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Kinsey a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Keenan Johnson, who posted ten points and three steals.

Ringgold was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 0.

Ringgold's win bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Arcadia, they moved to 13-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Ringgold will head out to take on Cedar Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ringgold is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season. As for Arcadia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jonesboro-Hodge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
