Football Game Preview: Alton Redbirds vs. Highland Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Alton Redbirds are taking a road trip to challenge the Highland Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alton hasn't scored more than 13 points for eight games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Things were looking good for Alton after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They had to suffer through a 37-7 loss at the hands of Edwardsville. While losing is never fun, the Redbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Tigers are ranked 45th).

Meanwhile, Highland posted their closest victory since September 6, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Mascoutah 13-10. Those 13 points were actually the fewest the Bulldogs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Highland now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Alton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Alton might still be hurting after the 21-0 loss they got from Highland when the teams last played back in August of 2018. Thankfully for the Redbirds, Brady Feldmann (who rushed for 85 yards and one score, and also picked up 37 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
