Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Artesia). They put the hurt on the Los Alamos Hilltoppers with a sharp 77-57 victory on Saturday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Artesia pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.2 points. As for Los Alamos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Artesia will be taking part in a tournament against West Las Vegas at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Los Alamos, they will be playing at home against Albuquerque Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Albuquerque Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Los Alamos surely won't give up without a fight.
