Basketball Recap: Sunset Comes Up Short

Sunset lost against La Salle back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sunset Apollos fell 62-52 to the La Salle Falcons. The contest marked the Apollos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sunset's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for La Salle, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Sunset won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ida B. Wells at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ida B. Wells knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Sunset likes a good challenge. As for La Salle, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Crook County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in La Salle's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
