Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Isaiah Scott-Palacios and Ty Kennedy Lead Greenwood Christian to Victory

Greenwood Christian hadn't done well against Spartanburg Day recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Greenwood Christian Hawks came out on top against the Spartanburg Day Griffins by a score of 54-45. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Greenwood Christian was led to victory by Ty Kennedy and Isaiah Scott-Palacios. Kennedy dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards, while Scott-Palacios went 8 of 16 en route to 23 points. Scott-Palacios' evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Leland Reed, who posted five points.

Greenwood Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Spartanburg Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Greenwood Christian will venture away from home to square off against Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spartanburg Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Greenwood Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Spartanburg Day, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 51-38 victory against First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest on the 29th.
