Recap: Academy of Richmond County Musketeers vs. Carver Tigers
The Academy of Richmond County Musketeers and the Carver Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers had to settle for second. Academy of Richmond County was dealt a 40-0 loss at the hands of Carver. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, Academy of Richmond County couldn't push the score so high this time.
Brooks Dickinson threw for 53 yards on three of ten attempts. Lo'than McBride was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards. On the ground, Elijah Sholes rushed for 51 yards.
Jacobie Hunter looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 292 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Tristian Givens did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.
Academy of Richmond County's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.9 points per game. As for Carver, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Academy of Richmond County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carver will be playing in front of their home fans against Upson-Lee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Ja'Quan Bentley and De'ante Childs.
