Basketball Recap: Molly Andrew Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Devils Win

West Lafayette fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 51-38 win over the North Vermillion Falcons on Saturday.

West Lafayette got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Molly Andrew out in front who posted 15 points along with eight boards and five steals. Bree Johnson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

West Lafayette smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why North Vermillion lost, don't look at Nora Thomann. Despite the final result, she put up eight points in addition to 12 rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Daelynn Spivey, who had seven points and seven boards.

West Lafayette has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-11 record this season. As for North Vermillion, they moved to 11-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

West Lafayette will square off against Lafayette Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Vermillion, they will face off against Attica at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
