Recap: Northland Pines Eagles vs. Mosinee Indians
The Northland Pines Eagles were the 59-58 winner over the Mosinee Indians when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Northland Pines had to suffer through a rough 79-35 loss at the hands of Mosinee. While losing is never fun, Northland Pines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Mosinee is ranked 63rd).
Landen Thomer was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds for Mosinee. The match was Thomer's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Keagen Jirschele was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists.
Northland Pines bumped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Mosinee, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northland Pines will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Hillsboro at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th. Mosinee will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Green Bay Preble at 3:30 p.m. on December 28th.
