Preview: Huntingdon Mustangs vs. Milan Bulldogs
The Huntingdon Mustangs will be playing at home against the Milan Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Huntingdon rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Waverly Central 62-0 at home. The win was familiar territory for Huntingdon who now have ten in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Huntingdon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashton Hutcherson, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Gray Eubanks, who rushed for 34 yards and two touchdowns.
Huntingdon's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. In that department, Easton Byars was the leader with two sacks.
Lewis County typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Milan proved too difficult a challenge. Milan really took it to Lewis County for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-6 victory on the road. The victory was just what Milan needed coming off of a 48-14 loss in their prior matchup.
Huntingdon has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points per game. As for Milan, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Huntingdon strolled past Milan in their previous meeting back in September by a score of 32-14. Does Huntingdon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Milan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
