Volleyball Recap: Weber Has No Trouble Against Fremont

Weber won the last time they faced Fremont and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warriors put the hurt on the Silverwolves with a sharp 3-0 victory.

One reason for the win was Weber's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-15.

Bridger Smith paced Weber's offense, picking up nine kills. Smith got some help from Seth Cook and his 13 assists. Finally, Smith was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Despite the loss, Fremont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Korver Lewis had 11 digs and two assists. Cole Hoffman also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

The win got Weber back to even at 9-9. As for Fremont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Weber didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Davis on the 17th. As for Fremont, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Syracuse on the 17th.
