Softball Recap: Calvary Christian Makes It Nine in a Row on the Road

Calvary Christian put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the Crystal River Pirates. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Morgan Spinner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Julia Tamulski was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Emma Bell, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Calvary Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crystal River only posted a batting average of .091.

Calvary Christian's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Crystal River, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1.

Coming up, Calvary Christian will welcome River Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crystal River, they will head out to square off against Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
