Baseball Recap: Jackson South Side Drops Highest Score of Season Against Covington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson South Side). They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Covington Chargers on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Jackson South Side got a great performance from Miller Hornsby as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Wyatt Diffee was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. River Chumney also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Jackson South Side's record now sits at 3-1. As for Covington, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Jackson South Side will host Camden Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covington, they will take on Dyersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
