After a string of three wins, Lincoln Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to the Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils 53-49.

When it comes to explaining why Lincoln Prep lost, don't look at Torey Williams. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 17 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds. That was a full 49% of Lincoln Prep's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucky Singh, who scored nine points and seven boards.

It was another big night for Nathan Harris, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds for Santa Cruz Valley. Another player making a difference was Ty Jarius Salazar, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points.

Lincoln Prep's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Lincoln Prep has already played their next matchup, a 49-41 victory against Leading Edge Academy - GEC on the 10th. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-27 win against ALA - Anthem South on the 10th.
