Preview: Rolla Pirates vs. Weskan Coyotes
After two games on the road, Rolla is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Weskan Coyotes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, Rolla was the victim of a tough 45-21 defeat at the hands of Deerfield.
Meanwhile, Weskan pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 60-57 to Wallace County, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Weskan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Trey Allen, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. He scored a full 31.6% of Weskan's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Crow, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Rolla's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Weskan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Rolla took a serious blow against Weskan in their previous meeting back in January, falling 63-29. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rolla was down 31-11.
