Baseball Recap: Mercer Island Gets the Win

Mercer Island won the last time they faced Interlake and things went their way on Saturday too. The Islanders walked away with an 8-3 win over the Saints.

Mercer Island got a great performance from Will Turba as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Turba has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mercer Island let Liam Sirianni and Brady Dolence run wild. Sirianni got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one double, while Dolence went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Sirianni has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Hugs Aufranc, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Mercer Island's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Interlake, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-14.

Mercer Island has already played their next game, a 5-3 win against Inglemoor on the 12th. As for Interlake, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against Liberty on the 12th.
