Flag Football Recap: Cherry Creek Falls Despite Big Games from Lizzie Harbaugh and Addy Beck + How To Watch

Despite a strong season so far, Cherry Creek has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Douglas County Huskies. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

Cherry Creek's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Addy Beck and Lizzie Harbaugh. Beck threw for 196 yards and a pair of TDs, while Harbaugh picked up 23 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Cherry Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jalen Nelson and Kaitlin Schatz.

Cherry Creek's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Douglas County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Cherry Creek will take on Valor Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Douglas County, they will face off against Grandview at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Huskies 11.7, the Wolves 6.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
