Baseball Recap: Neenah Rockets vs. Bay Port Pirates

Neenah extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-16 in the process. They came up short against the Bay Port Pirates, falling 11-0. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

As for Bay Port, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games.

For Bay Port's part, Keagan Wheeler looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wheeler has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Drew Bruckner was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Jensen, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
