Baseball Recap: Cumberland Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Somerset, Cumberland was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Poynette Pumas.

Sloan McCreary was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases. Another player making a difference was Tucker Wickstrom, who scored a run and stole three bases.

The victory got Cumberland back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Cumberland will face off against Bloomer at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Poynette, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-3 loss against Boyceville on the 4th.
