Basketball Recap: Tri County Skates Past Southern with Ease

While Tri County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-42 victory over the Southern Raiders. Fans of the Trojans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Tri County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Siems, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine assists. Siems' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Wehrman, who shot 78% from the field en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Tri County was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern only posted eight.

When it comes to explaining why Southern lost, don't look at Paxx Adams. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-9 on his way to 19 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Hunter Pollman, who posted eight points.

The victory keeps Tri County at an undefeated 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 67.5 points this season. As for Southern, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Tri County has already played their next matchup, a 55-43 defeat against Sandy Creek on the 13th. As for Southern, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-47 loss against Deshler on the 13th.
