Softball Recap: Sherman Takes a Loss

Sherman's last matchup with Celina could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Sherman Bearcats came up short against the Celina Bobcats, falling 11-4. The Bearcats haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Madelyn Whitmire was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Sherman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Celina, the win snapped their losing streak at 11 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-10 record.

Looking ahead, Sherman will face off against Sachse at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Celina, they will square off against McKinney Boyd at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Celina will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
