Soccer Recap: Hartsville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wilson last Tuesday, Hartsville came back down to earth. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Sumter Gamecocks who were credited with the victory on Wednesday. The Sumter Gamecocks got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Hartsville Red Foxes' two. Hartsville were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sumter apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Hartsville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Sumter, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.

Hartsville has already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Lower Richland on the 11th. As for Sumter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 9-0 win against Lakewood on the 10th.
