Baseball Recap: Peoria Comes Up Short

Peoria fell victim to Bloomington and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Purple Raiders, falling 14-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Purple Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-0 on Thursday.

Peoria's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Bloomington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-14 record this season.

Peoria and Bloomington could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Lions (ranked 621st) will meet Normal Community (ranked 15th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Bloomington will square off against Washington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (410 vs. 46).
