It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Penn Cambria had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 27-0 win over the Brockway Rovers. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Penn Cambria to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grant Gides, who picked up 194 receiving yards and one touchdown. Gides didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended two passes. Brady Jones was another key passer, throwing for 300 yards and four TDs while picking up 15.0 yards per attempt.

Penn Cambria's run defense was locked in: Brockway could only muster -0.3 yards per carry. While two picked up at least five total tackles, Gides stood above the rest. He picked up 194 receiving yards and one score. They're 1-2 when they shut down the run game so well.

Penn Cambria's defense didn't let Aiden Patton, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Colin Gongloff and Nate Mack, who racked up 4.5 sacks between them. Gongloff also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.

The victory (which was Penn Cambria's third in a row) raised their record to 11-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.3 points on average over those games. As for Brockway, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Penn Cambria wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-7 victory against Sharon on the 21st. Brockway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
