Baseball Game Preview: Croswell-Lexington Pioneers vs. Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish

The Croswell-Lexington Pioneers will venture away from home to take on the Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Croswell-Lexington's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Notre Dame Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Croswell-Lexington is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering North Branch just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 11-7 to the Broncos.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Notre Dame Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past University of Detroit Jesuit 9-2 on Monday. The Fighting Irish not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 10-0).

Notre Dame Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Croswell-Lexington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Croswell-Lexington might still be hurting after the 16-4 loss they got from Notre Dame Prep in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
