Softball Recap: Redlands East Valley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Redlands East Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Vasquez Mustangs by a score of 9-4 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Friday, they had to take a 4-1 defeat.

Isa Navarro spent all four innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had over her last 11 matchups.

At the plate, Olivia Moore was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Juliana Legaspi, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Redlands East Valley's record is now 5-9. As for Vasquez, they dropped their record down to 4-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Redlands East Valley has already played their next contest, a 6-3 defeat against Riverside Prep on the 10th. As for Vasquez, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-1 win against Desert on the 20th.
