Basketball Recap: Greenville Takes a Loss

Greenville and Mercyhurst Prep squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Greenville had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 75-31 loss at the hands of the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while the Lakers are ranked 174th).

Mercyhurst Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Ollinger led the charge by putting up 11 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Ollinger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Wilbur, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Mercyhurst Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

As of now, neither Greenville nor Mercyhurst Prep have any future games scheduled.
