Volleyball Game Preview: Horizon Prep Lions vs. Monarch Royals

The Horizon Prep Lions will head out to challenge the Monarch Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monarch took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Horizon Prep, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Horizon Prep made easy work of Mountain Empire and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

While Horizon Prep might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Mountain Empire scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Monarch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Cristo Rey, falling 3-0.

Monarch was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-9, 25-9.

Monarch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Horizon Prep, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7.
