Plainville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They escaped with a win against the Hoisington Cardinals by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44. This was payback for Plainville, who suffered a 76-56 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hoisington's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brier Thompson, who went 6 of 12 en route to 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Thompson a new career-high in rebounds (three). Another player making a difference was Mason Martin, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Plainville's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hoisington, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Plainville will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Victoria on January 7, 2025. As for Hoisington, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 55-39 victory against St. John on the 14th.
