Challis extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Owen Thayn. The Vikings enjoyed a cozy 36-20 victory over the North Gem Cowboys on Friday with plenty of help from Thayn, who threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 54 yards. His passing game has become a key predictor of Challis' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise.

North Gem's loss came despite strong showings from Craig Yost and William Wakely. Yost rushed for 113 yards and three scores, while Wakely rushed for 117 yards.

The win got Challis back to even at 4-4. As for North Gem, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Challis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 42-36 defeat against Rockland on the 17th. As for North Gem, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-16 victory against Watersprings on the 17th.
