Softball Game Preview: White Mountains Spartans vs. Bishop Brady Giants

White Mountains is 0-3 against Bishop Brady since April of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Spartans will challenge the Giants at 6:00 p.m.

White Mountains is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They fell 4-1 to Belmont.

Meanwhile, Bishop Brady entered their tilt with Conant on Thursday with 14 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 15. They put the hurt on the Orioles with a sharp 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Giants, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Payton Bryson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

In other batting news, Ava Archambault was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimble Rose, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Bishop Brady pushed their record up to 16-2-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for White Mountains, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

White Mountains couldn't quite get it done against Bishop Brady in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 5-2. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
