Football Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Eagle's View

The Eagle's View Warriors didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Stanton Blue Devils on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 96th).

When it comes to explaining why Stanton lost, don't look at Aiyanna Smiley. Despite the final result, she threw for 108 yards and a pair of TDs.

Eagle's View's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Stanton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Eagle's View will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Fernandina Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Stanton, they will welcome Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Blue Devils' offense will have their work cut out for them.
