Baseball Recap: Soddy Daisy Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Soddy Daisy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McMinn County Cherokees. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Cherokees recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Soddy Daisy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Poe, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Brayden Maynor was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Soddy Daisy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for McMinn County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Soddy Daisy will head out to square off against Hixson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for McMinn County, they will venture away from home to face off against Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
